Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions homeowners ask us most, before they decide who to trust with their roof.
Yes. We come out, get on the roof, document the actual condition with photos, and give you a written assessment at no charge. There is no obligation to hire us afterward. We would rather earn the work than pressure you into it.
Often it is a repair, and we will tell you when it is. A single leak, a few wind-lifted shingles, or failed flashing is usually a fix, not a new roof. Replacement is the right call when a roof has widespread granule loss, repeated leaks in more than one spot, or has simply reached the end of its life. We show you photos so you can decide with the full picture.
Yes. Ironclad Roofing carries state contractor licensing, general liability insurance, and workers' compensation for the whole crew. We are happy to show proof before any work begins. We encourage you to ask any roofer for the same. A company that hesitates is telling you something.
We inspect the roof and document any storm or hail damage with dated photos. You file the claim with your insurer. We meet your adjuster on site and walk the roof together so the scope is accurate. We then complete the work to that approved scope. You pay your deductible, and the rest is billed to the claim. We will not offer to waive your deductible, because that is illegal in Minnesota and a sign of a contractor to avoid.
Be careful. After a storm, out-of-town crews work a neighborhood fast, sign people up, and are often gone before the work is ever inspected. If something goes wrong, there is no one local to make it right. Take your time, get an inspection from a company you can check out, and avoid signing anything on the spot. We will be here next year either way.
A roof has two kinds of warranty. The manufacturer warranty covers the materials, and as a GAF Master Elite contractor we install systems backed by up to a 50-year material warranty. Our own workmanship warranty covers the installation. We register both for you and leave you with the paperwork at the final walkthrough.
Yes, on qualifying projects. A new roof is a large, infrequent purchase, and financing lets some homeowners do it right rather than patching for another season. We will walk you through the options when we provide your estimate.
Most residential replacements take one to two days, weather permitting. We protect your landscaping and siding, clean up daily, and run a magnetic sweep for nails at the end. We will give you a realistic schedule with your estimate, and we keep you posted if weather moves it.
We serve the northwest Twin Cities metro, including Maple Grove, Plymouth, Osseo, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, and Rogers. See our service area for the full list. If you are just outside it, call us anyway. We often go a bit farther for a full replacement.
Look for a local address, a state license number, manufacturer certifications, proof of insurance, and real photos of real local jobs. A legitimate roofer gives you a written estimate and stands behind it. Be wary of high-pressure door knocks, offers to cover your deductible, and a price that only holds if you sign today. Those are the patterns of a company that will be gone when you need them.
